Ok, Oasis is back, that's great. But, as of time I'm writing this (8/31/24) there are no confirmed North American tour dates. So in the meantime I’m going to give you 5 bands that could reunite if they wanted to and should. I’m gonna be real with you this is a list your dad is probably gonna agree with, so just a heads up.
- The Talking Heads
Why did the Talking Heads break up? Don't ask me, I don’t care, something something something “David just left”... whatever. Yeah the Tom Tom Club is good and no one is saying David Byrne isn’t good in theater, but do you really mean to tell me you’d rather have that than another Speaking in Tongues?!?!? I didn’t think so.
- Black Sabbath (with Ozzy and Bill Ward)
How many iterations of Black Sabbath have there been? A lot. But nobodys going to say the best wasn’t Ozzy, Iommi, Butler, and Ward. Yes, Bill Ward played drums during the 13 album sessions but he didn't play on the The End tour so I believe we are still owed one last show with the 4 of them together.
- System of a Down* (ALBUM!!!)
Yeah they play shows together (only on the west coast), yeah they put out a single in 2020, but we need an album!!! That's all I have to say, all 5 of their albums are legendary, they still talk and play with each other despite their differences, if TOOL can reunite then so can they.
- Creedence Clearwater Revival
This tour would do numbers. The largest stadiums in the country would fill up. There would be people in their 20s all the way to their 90s lined up for a ticket. And the tour would be fine, John Fogerty already tours and it's basically the same thing, but people would go just to say they did (like Phil Anselmo and the Illegals and the Pantera reunion).
- The Smiths
Just trust me on this one, maybe Morrissey will finish a song. I could see them at New Brookland Tavern. Morrissey might throw a drink at a fan or say something questionable but we will get to hear This Charming Man!!!
Hi! My name is Joshua Lazenby AKA DJ Laz. I’m from Irmo, SC and I’m a junior integrated information technology major. I’ve been with WUSC since spring 2022 and loved every second of it! Be sure to catch my show, Subterranean Radio Tunes (I’ll play something good just for you)!
